February blues

It's the first of February, ususally the worst month of the year for Removal companies and this probably will not be an exception. The year started okay with the first two weeks in january actually quite good for people moving house. Then according to reports we have recieved from removal comapanies the work seems to have dried up.

The media is full of reports of impending doom for the housing market and generally talking this up so no doubt the year will be an interesting one for all concern and connected with the removal industry.

I have only just started this moving house blog and will be interested in looking back over it by the end of the year.

Hi Doc,

I think this January has been the worst in the last 5-6 years!

who would advise anybody that TODAY would be a great time to buy a home!!!!

Until the housing market becomes stable and positve the sooner the removals companies can get "stuck in" and go back to work.

Hi George,

Couldn't agree more, although I believe the media has decided our future, certainly for the next couple of years.

The new LEZ isn't helping the companies within the M25 especially if they have just forked out for new vehicles and the market is so slow.

All the best for the year ahead

Well done on starting your blog!

The property blues are still in full swing (may08) I know a few estate agents in my area who have had to shut up shop.

Hi,

I can only agree :)
Will it get worse before it gets better?

Hi,

What if I cannot agree?
This recession could easily tip into a depression .

i'm looking to buy this year but doesn't look good, housing market is at a reasonable low, the interest rate can only go one way and I have a nice deposit to put down, trouble is nobody is selling!!

In my experience with friends and family its the best time for first time buyers etc though? just not very good for the people selling!

The month of February is not good for moving companies as they are not getting busy and engaged as in January. The moving companies are not making much business this month.

It seems that nowadays everywhere you turn there are more and more websites chasing your business, but the main thing is you need to focus on where the market is moving..

But why the month of February is dried for removal firms? I have a confusion in this somebody help me in this??

Defiantly it's the February where the weather is too cold, so people wouldn't like to move from one region to other that's why the removal companies faces loss in that season,

I think would not like to move in cold season, because of not bearing pain in that season, so that would be one of the reason of fallen of business in February season,
